How should a wind-cooled chiller be handled after load damage?

Handling methods for wind-cooled chiller load damage: First, confirm whether the compressor load is burned out or parts are worn. If so, the refrigerant system will inevitably be contaminated, such as residual refrigerant oil carbonization remaining in the pipeline, the dryer filter absorbing a large amount of water, etc.

Handling methods for air-cooled chiller load damage: First, confirm whether the compressor load is burned out or parts are worn. If so, the refrigerant system will inevitably be contaminated, such as residual refrigerant oil carbonization remaining in the pipeline, and the desiccant filter absorbing a large amount of water. Therefore, if compressor burnout occurs, the cause of the compressor burnout should be analyzed first: Is it a temperature control problem such as the contactor or overload in the control box; is it due to incorrect setting changes or adjustments; is it due to unstable power voltage; did the operator follow the normal operating procedure, etc.?

Air-cooled chillers are mainly used in chemical, ink printing, large energy equipment, mixing stations, food preservation, central air conditioning and other industries. According to different heat dissipation methods, there are air-cooled screw chillers and water-cooled screw chillers. Even the best products cannot be used forever. They also have a limited service life and may malfunction due to improper operation. So, what should we do when the air-cooled chiller compressor is damaged? If it has been determined that the compressor is damaged and completely unusable, a new compressor should be replaced according to the following steps;

1. Remove the desiccant filter, use a temporary detachable pipe or copper pipe connector to connect the short-circuited part, and blow dry the entire system. At this time, nitrogen with a pressure of 10 kg/cm2 can be used to blow dry until no residual cleaning agent remains;

2. Inject the cleaning agent into the pipeline system for cleaning and circulation. If necessary, replace the cleaning agent for multiple cleanings;

3. Add replacement compressor refrigerant oil, observe the oiling situation when the compressor is running, add liquid refrigerant, and start the test after reaching 80%~90% of the refrigerant amount. Note: The compressor needs to be warmed up for 2 hours;

4. Install the good compressor and desiccant filter, and use nitrogen with a pressure of 10 kg/cm2 for leak detection. If there is no leakage, the remaining nitrogen can be discharged to the atmosphere from the high-pressure end angle valve;

5. Simultaneously vacuum the high and low pressure ends to 1000 micro, and then check all power and electrical control systems.
